Bio
When I first started to pursue education, I wasn’t convinced that it was something I wanted to do. My first real teaching experience was at FCA. I was completing fieldwork at the time, and the teacher who taught 3-4 grade left mid-way through the year. I was able to take over as the classroom teacher for the second semester, and I LOVED it! I loved getting to know the kids, seeing them learn and grow throughout the year, and having opportunities to pour into them spiritually.
As I’ve continued in my career, I’ve also grown in my passion for giving families Christ-centered options for education. I am excited to work alongside parents to help “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6).
Testimony
I recognized my need for a savior and accepted Christ while I was in elementary school. While I am thankful for God’s grace in allowing me to grow up in a Christian home, I know that it sometimes made it difficult to see myself as a sinner, in need of God’s grace and unable to save myself by my own righteousness. But I am reminded of Philippians 1:6, “…He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Looking back over the years, I can see God’s working in my life. As a young adult, God moved my heart to a place where I recognized deeply that I could not be “good enough” through my own efforts. God reminded me that He is able to do what I could not and gave me peace when I sorely needed it. I am beyond thankful for His grace and steadfast mercy.
I attended Maranatha Baptist Bible College for three semesters, and had the blessing of taking classes that taught education from a Christian perspective. I then transferred and took classes online through UW Superior. While taking online classes, I started working at Faith Christian Academy. I started working as a teacher’s aide, and then was able to work a semester as the 2nd and 3rd grade teacher. I look back on that time in my life as the year I learned that I LOVED teaching in a Christian school. Being able to share God’s word and see His working in young lives has been such a precious experience, and one that I am thankful for every day. After having moved away from Wausau for around seven years, I am so excited to be back and teaching at Faith Christian Academy!
