“‘Is not My word like fire?’ says the Lord, ‘And like a hammer that breaks the rocks in pieces?’” Jeremiah 23:29
Most of my life has been spent near the ocean. I was born on the West Coast in sunny California—but I soon found myself on a little Honduran island in the Caribbean, where my family served as missionaries. It was there that I spent much of my childhood. I witnessed Christ working through my parents, and through their example, I came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior at a young age. But it was in my early teens that I truly started to develop a personal relationship with Him through reading His Word for myself. I began to know His voice and see Him working in my life.
When my family returned from the mission field and settled in Western Washington State, my convictions were challenged as I began attending a public university. I chose once again to place my faith in the Bible, wholeheartedly and without reserve. It has proven to be a firm foundation.
Now, newly in a land of lakes and rivers, I aim to instill faith in the Word of God in the next generation in hopes that they too may know the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
