Growing up, I wanted to be a music teacher. After graduating Moody Bible Institute, it was my intention to continue in music education. However, it seemed like God had a different idea. I returned to my hometown and home church and began working in Children’s ministry and Worship ministry. After several years of praying and waiting on the Lord, an opportunity arose to enroll in a certification program in Elementary education. I completed the program in 2020 and in 2021, God led me to FCA. It is such a joy to see students grow and learn through the year not just academically but also spiritually. I enjoy incorporating music into the school day. Outside of school, I enjoy teaching guitar lessons, Bible journaling and junk journaling, playing and singing on the worship team at Highland Community Church, and serving on staff at Land O Lincoln Camp Cedarbrook.
Testimony
I had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home. Early on, my parents instilled the importance of a relationship with God. They read the Bible to my brother and I daily, we went to church, we participated in Sunday school, and took part in church activities. I had heard the gospel message many times, but one day when I was 7, my mom was leading a Bible lesson on sin. I accepted Christ as my Savior that day. Later that year, I attended summer camp for the first time, and I really began to understand what that meant. I made the decision to dedicate my life to Christ. Throughout my life, God has been teaching me to trust and rely on Him. It’s a lesson I apparently need quite often. One of my favorite verses is Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted amount the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
